Our last wedding of the year was with the amazing Heidi and Matt of Seattle. They are such a fun and laid back couple! Their wedding was a mix of classic elegance with fun elements sprinkled in. I especially loved their robot cake toppers. It was one of the cutest cake toppers I’ve ever seen!

My second shooter for the day was the awesome Arthur from Missoula, MT (http://arthurinthesky.com/).

I absolutely love doing senior photo sessions in Snohomish and this session is one of my favorites! She showed me some really cool places I haven’t shot at before and we had a blast! I can’t wait to go back for another session!

Now that is is cold outside, it’s nice to remember the fun summertime weddings from this year. Here’s a little preview of a sunny August wedding at the always gorgeous Jardin del Sol. My favorite detail from this wedding was the giant chalkboard the groom built for the wedding. Their friend wrote the names of all the wedding party on it… so cute!

Here is a sneak peek from last weekend’s engagement session in Monroe. Rachel’s family runs a farm and had a ton of old awesome farm stuff that made a fun and unique backdrop for the session. Rachel and Jon were so fun to photograph and I can’t wait for their August wedding!

It’s not often you get a sunny day in early June, but after Ashley and Kenny’s extra rainy engagement session, I was extra glad that they had a gorgeous day for their wedding! Here’s a few sneak peeks of my favorite images from the day. I haven’t finished going through the reception photos yet, so that will have to be another post.

We had such a great session out in Monroe! I love all of the farms that are out here, and no trip to Monroe would be complete without a stop at an old prision! Stephanie and Robyn were so fun to work with and willing to explore some interesting (and slightly frightening!) locations I found. I can’t wait for their wedding in August!

Dark skies? Check. Cold weather? Check. Rain? Check. Generally those elements make a great excuse to stay inside, curled up in a blanket. But I learned that they can also be the makings of a great engagement photoshoot. The key ingredient is a go-with-the-flow couple who is up for anything and doesn’t let a little rain stop them. We had a great time exploring a new park in Auburn and then stopping by Starbucks for a hot beverage and some shelter. I am hoping however, that we got all the rain out of our system and that their June wedding with be shower free

Here’s a little preview of Jackie and Travis’ lovely February wedding. There were so many little special moments to capture throughout the day, and it was a real joy to share these moments with them. Although the downpour changed our portrait plans a little bit, I think we got some great shots.

My favorite photos from weddings generally aren’t the carefully orchestrated portraits, but rather the photos that capture a funny moment, deep emotion, or just the pure excitement of the day. Here are 10 of my favorite moments from last year’s weddings. It was really hard to choose, so I might need to make a part 2 of this post!
